Vision is a precious gift that contributes immensely to one’s quality of life. At Advanced Retina Associates offices in Volusia County, our mission is to preserve and restore vision by providing exceptional retinal care in a compassionate setting.
Our founding physician, Dr. Douglas Lieb, is fellowship trained at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the retina, macula, and vitreous, and has over 24 years of experience treating patients throughout Central Florida. Dr. Lieb and his staff are committed to working closely with patients and their families, as well as referring physicians, optometrists, and other medical professionals, to provide outstanding care in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal conditions.
At Advanced Retina Associates, the latest advances in vitreoretinal surgery, laser technology, and pharmacologic therapies are utilized. All diagnostic testing is performed in office using state of the art technology. Most treatments are also conveniently performed in office to maximize comfort and convenience for patients and their families. More complex procedures are performed at Blue Springs Surgery Center, located just across the hall from our Orange City office, Rinehart Surgery Center, and Halifax Hospital, with teams experienced in retinal surgery.

Company History
Advanced Retina Associates was established in December 2016 by fellowship trained retina specialist Dr. Douglas Lieb with the vision of creating a physician owned practice dedicated to providing compassionate, specialized retinal care to patients throughout Central Florida.
Prior to founding Advanced Retina Associates, Dr. Lieb spent more than 24 years caring for patients in Central Florida and built a longstanding reputation for excellence in the medical and surgical treatment of retinal diseases. After completing advanced fellowship training at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, he developed extensive expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the retina, macula, and vitreous.
Since opening in 2016, Advanced Retina Associates has continued to grow while remaining committed to personalized patient care, advanced retinal treatments, and strong relationships with referring physicians, optometrists, and the community we are honored to serve.
