Company Profile
Assurance Healthcare & Counseling Center
Company Overview
Assurance Healthcare & Counseling Center is a Direct Primary Care (100% Membership-based) family practice and counseling center in Yakima, WA.
We deal directly with individuals, families, and businesses to provide excellent healthcare and counseling services for a low, monthly fee. We do not contract with insurance companies or government entities.
Our goal is to minimize waste in the healthcare system (only order necessary labs, radiology, etc.), and help our members save money where possible. We dispense medications on-site at wholesale prices, pass on our negotiated prices for labs to our members, and find affordable alternatives for services and procedures that we are unable to perform on-site.
Company History
Assurance Healthcare & Counseling Center opened in 2014, and has always been a 100% direct primary care (membership-based) practice.
Founders include: Richard Edgerly, MD / Holly Porter, LMHC / Jason Larsen (current CEO)
Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
As a Direct Primary Care clinic, Assurance Healthcare & Counseling Center is one of the largest membership-based clinics in the state of Washington, and continually saves our membership-base millions of dollars every year in healthcare costs through discounted medications, labs, and other services.
Benefits
Pay is via salary, not production. Profit sharing is possible after a period of time. Expectations are to see an average of 12-16 members per day, between 30-50% of those being same-day acute care visits.
Our workweek is Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Full time is 4 days per week, 8am-5pm with a one-hour lunch. Part time work can be flexible with days and hours.
Charting is for the purpose of good medicine and patient care - NOT for the purpose of insurance companies, as we do not contract with insurance. Therefore, we don't need to worry about ICD-10 codes, proving a 99214 vs. 99213, etc. We simply chart for the sake of good medicine.
Job performance is based solely on the ability to practice quality medicine while seeing and maintaining a panel of members who feel cared for - normally between 600-800 people in total for a full-time physician.
Call is shared between all providers, and usually amounts to between 1-10 calls after hours per week. Call is very light.
Medical benefits are through a medical cost sharing company (an insurance alternative).
Retirement plan and other benefits available after 1 year of employment.
