- ADVANCED THORACIC SURGICAL ONCOLOGY FELLOWSHIP
Description
Memorial Sloan Kettering is offering a one-year clinical fellowship in complex thoracic surgery for individuals who will have completed a cardiothoracic training program by July of 2027 and are interested in an advanced experience in thoracic surgical oncology. Applicants should be board-certified or board-eligible, or the equivalent, by July 2027. Applicants from outside of the U.S. are welcome but must hold a valid ECFMG certificate. Practicing cardiothoracic surgeons may also be eligible.
Our internationally-renowned faculty is composed of fourteen thoracic surgeons, all of whom share a strong belief in the importance of mentorship and teaching that serves as the foundation for our training program. Fellows enjoy a broad exposure to a variety of both malignant and benign pathology, and an emphasis is placed on the multidisciplinary management of thoracic cancers. Minimally invasive, including VATS, robotic and advanced endoscopic techniques are equally emphasized alongside complex open surgical approaches. Experience in the clinic is integral to the fellow’s training as well and offers a robust experience in the evaluation of patients being considered for surgical management. A highly structured didactic program complements an extensive operative experience which is second to none, and fellows have ample opportunity to pursue clinical research and academic scholarship.
