Description
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist with expertise or strong interest in Interventional Psychiatry and Neuropsychiatry to join our growing clinical team. This role focuses on delivering advanced, evidence-based treatments for patients with complex and treatment-resistant neuropsychiatric conditions.
The Physician will combine direct patient care with procedural excellence, collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, and contribution to clinical program development to drive high-quality, measurable outcomes aligned with Salma Health’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Care
- Evaluate and diagnose patients with treatment-resistant depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, and other complex neuropsychiatric conditions
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans incorporating interventional modalities
- Deliver and/or supervise interventional treatments, including:
- Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
- SAINT
- Esketamine (Spravato) and/or IV ketamine
- Additional modalities as programs expand
- Monitor clinical outcomes and adjust treatment protocols accordingly
Provide ongoing psychiatric medication management as appropriate
- Program & Quality Leadership
- Partner with Clinical Operations and Medical Leadership to scale interventional services
- Contribute to protocol development and standardization of care
- Ensure regulatory compliance and safety for procedural services
- Participate in quality review, outcomes tracking, and performance improvement initiatives
- Support a culture of clinical rigor and scholarship
- Collaboration & Supervision
- Collaborate with advanced practice providers, therapists, and clinical staff
- Provide physician oversight and consultation to advanced practice providers
- Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and treatment planning
- Innovation & Research Integration
- Support implementation of ATLAS (Advanced Trial for Longitudinal Assessment in Salma)
- Serve as site PI or study physician for industry-sponsored trials
Requirements
- Required Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Active, unrestricted California medical license (or in process)
- DEA registration
- Experience or training in TMS and/or ketamine-based therapies
- Experience working with treatment-resistant populations
- Ability to operate in a growth-oriented, outcomes-driven clinical environment
- Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship or advanced training in Interventional Psychiatry or Neuropsychiatry
- Experience launching or scaling interventional programs
- Familiarity with measurement-based care models
- Experience in outpatient, IOP, or hybrid care settings
- Compensation & Benefits:
- Guaranteed base salary of $450,000-$550,000 for the first year, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and training in interventional psychiatry
- Beginning Year 2, compensation transitions to base salary with a production-based (wRVU) model tied to clinical volume, consistent with Salma Health's physician compensation structure. Year 2 total compensation is expected to range from $350,000–$550,000
